Move Over Fanny Cradock

I have a new celebrity crush – the Very Reverend Dr William Buckland, the 19th century palaeontologist, zoophagist and general eccentric. He ate the mummified heart of King Louis XIV. That’s the kind of thing that really gets a girl going.

  1. Nowt wrong with saying fetish. Or with having one. Or with Mr Hamilton, who is a handsome chap. Going to have to Google Aaron Burr though, I'm afraid.

I'm busy scratching 'Sack Posset 4 Dr William Buckland' on my pencil case. He's so dreamy.

  2. You could write a lonely hearts ad, specifying your precise requirements.

  3. Mole, panther, bluebottle, crocodile and mouse, I can see why you are fascinated by the Reverend Doctor.

  4. I'm almost as fascinated by this as I am Rassle's Hamilton thing. However, nothing will ever be as fascinating to me as the fact that I just can't seem to keep up with a crush on anyone I've not met in person. I know, boring.

  5. newjenny - 'SWF WLTM C19th SWM OHAC (or horsedrawn carrige) GSOH for LTR. Must like eating panther and the hearts of Kings'

Paul - What can I say - it's what us women want.

Mongoliangirl - This is actually a step up for me - usually I fancy fictional characters.

  6. I knew about the animals, but mummified king's heart! Easy to see how he stole yours. Even if Darwin did call him a buffoon.

  8. mantecanaut - I'm a sucker for a buffoon, especially a cannibalistic one.

Jason - I am thinking of having a T-shirt printed with the word 'corazonrexphagist'. I think it'll catch on.

Maxine - you made me snort my cider out of my nose with that one!
